Marine Service Manager (CPM)

Position Overview:
Chester Point Marina is seeking an experienced Marine Service Manager to oversee and coordinate daily operations within our high-end, full-service boatyard and marina facility. Chester Point Marina specializes in high-end finish paint work and services a wide range of premium vessels, including Palm Beach Motor Yachts, Pershing Yachts, and Grand Banks Yachts. Our facility is an authorized Volvo Penta dealer with factory-trained technicians and also employs factory-trained Yamaha outboard technicians.
The facility includes: • 70-ton travel lift • 50-ton hydraulic crane • Four hydraulic trailers • 27,000 sq/ft of heated indoor storage • Full-service mechanical, paint, fiberglass, and marine systems departmentsKey Responsibilities:
• Manage and coordinate all daily service department operations and workflow • Schedule and oversee marine repair, maintenance, paint, and refit projects • Communicate directly with customers regarding estimates, scheduling, project updates, and invoicing • Prepare estimates, work orders, and service documentation • Coordinate technicians, subcontractors, and yard personnel to ensure projects are completed efficiently and professionally • Oversee quality control and ensure all work meets company and manufacturer standards • Work closely with the Yard Foreman to coordinate vessel movements, hauling, launching, and storage logistics • Manage seasonal workload planning and indoor storage scheduling • Support and maintain relationships with premium yacht owners and manufacturers • Assist in troubleshooting complex mechanical and marine systems issues when necessary • Ensure compliance with all safety, environmental, and marina operational procedures • Maintain a professional and organized service department environmentQualifications:
• Minimum 5+ years of marine industry management experience preferred • Extensive knowledge of marine systems, vessel operations, and boatyard procedures • Experience managing service projects involving paint, mechanical, electrical, and marine systems work • Strong understanding of Volvo Penta systems, IPS drives, Yamaha outboards, and marine diesel engines preferred • Excellent communication, organizational, and customer service skills • Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced environment • Experience preparing estimates, scheduling labor, and managing budgets • Strong leadership and team management abilities • Computer proficiency and familiarity with marine service management software preferred • Valid driver’s license requiredPreferred Skills

Marine Fiberglass / Composite / Paint Technician (CPM)

Position Overview:
We are seeking a skilled Marine Fiberglass/Composite/Paint Technician to join our team. This role is responsible for performing repairs and refinishing work on fiberglass, carbon fiber, metal, and composite structures, as well as applying paint and protective coatings to vessels. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in marine repair, attention to detail, and a commitment to delivering high-quality results.
Key Responsibilities:
Fiberglass & Composite Work
- Repair and fabricate fiberglass, carbon fiber, and composite components, including hulls, decks, superstructures, and other vessel parts.
- Perform structural repairs, lamination, and gelcoat application.
- Sand, grind, and prepare surfaces for repair or refinishing.
- Mix and apply resins, epoxies, and other composite materials to repair or strengthen structures.
- Inspect and test completed repairs for structural integrity and aesthetic quality.
Painting & Coating
- Prepare surfaces for painting through sanding, blasting, or chemical treatments.
- Apply primers, paints, topcoats, and specialty coatings to vessels using brushes, rollers, or spray equipment.
- Ensure all coatings are applied evenly and adhere to manufacturer specifications and quality standards.
- Perform touch-ups, blending, and final finishing work for a flawless appearance.
- Inspect finished work for quality, uniformity, and adherence to client expectations.
General Responsibilities:
- Work with other technicians and trades, such as electricians and mechanics, to coordinate repairs and maintenance tasks.
- Follow all safety protocols, including the proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and handling of hazardous materials.
- Maintain and operate equipment, including sprayers, sanders, and grinders, ensuring tools are clean and in good working condition.
- Keep accurate records of work performed, materials used, and time spent on each project.
- Communicate effectively with supervisors, project managers, and clients to provide updates on progress and address any issues.
- Assist with other marine maintenance tasks as needed, including cleaning and inspecting vessels.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in fiberglass, composite, or marine painting work.
- Strong knowledge of fiberglass and composite materials, repair techniques, and lamination processes.
- Proficiency in using tools and equipment for fiberglass repair and painting, including spray guns, sanders, and grinders.
- Familiarity with marine coatings, gelcoat repair, and fairing techniques.
- Attention to detail and commitment to delivering high-quality craftsmanship.
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, blueprints, and repair specifications.
- Physical stamina and the ability to work in confined spaces, at heights, or in various weather conditions.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot and recommend effective repair solutions.
- Knowledge of safety regulations and best practices in a marine or industrial environment.
- Certifications in fiberglass/composite repair or marine painting are a plus (e.g., ABYC, NACE, or equivalent).

Position Overview:
Chester Point Marina is seeking an experienced and highly motivated Marine Mechanic / Volvo Penta Certified Technician to join our team at a high-end, full-service boatyard. The ideal candidate will possess strong diagnostic and repair skills, extensive knowledge of marine propulsion systems, and the ability to work independently while maintaining the highest standards of workmanship and customer service.
This position involves servicing a wide range of vessels with a focus on Volvo Penta gasoline and diesel engines, IPS drives, sterndrives, Yamaha outboards, Westerbeke diesel generators, and associated marine systems.
Key Responsibilities:
- Diagnose, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain marine engines and related systems
- Perform scheduled maintenance and repairs on Volvo Penta gasoline and diesel engines
- Service and repair Volvo Penta IPS systems, sterndrives, transmissions, and EVC controls
- Diagnose and repair Yamaha outboards and associated fuel and electrical systems
- Service and maintain Westerbeke diesel engines and generators
- Troubleshoot and repair marine electrical, fuel, cooling, steering, hydraulic, plumbing, and sanitation systems
- Utilize Volvo Penta diagnostic software and electronic service tools
- Perform engine removals, installations, alignments, and sea trials as needed
- Read and interpret wiring diagrams, technical manuals, and service bulletins
- Complete detailed service reports and communicate effectively with management and customers
- Work closely with the Service Manager and Yard Foreman to prioritize and complete projects efficiently
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment
- Follow all company safety standards and manufacturer service procedures
Qualifications:
- Volvo Penta factory training and/or certification required
- Minimum 5+ years of marine mechanical experience preferred
- Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting abilities
- Experience with IPS drives, EVC systems, Yamaha outboards, and marine diesel systems strongly preferred
- Extensive knowledge of marine systems and vessel operation
- Ability to read wiring diagrams and technical service manuals
- Knowledge of marine electrical and electronic systems
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship
- Valid driver’s license required
Preferred Skills:
- Experience with diesel engine diagnostics and repair
- ABYC certifications a plus

We are seeking a reliable, hardworking Marine Yard Hand to join our team at a high-end, full-service boatyard. This position is integral to daily yard operations and requires a strong work ethic, attention to detail, and a commitment to maintaining the highest standards of quality and safety. The ideal candidate will work closely with the Yard Foreman to support vessel handling, maintenance, and overall yard efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist with hauling, launching, blocking, and moving vessels using a 70-ton travel lift, forklifts, and hydraulic trailers
- Perform sanding, surface preparation, and bottom painting on a variety of vessels
- Wash, detail, and prepare boats for service, storage, and delivery
- Work closely with the Yard Foreman to coordinate daily tasks and yard operations

- Handle dock lines and assist with vessel movements both in the water and on land
