Jason Hyde

General Manager
Jason joined the CPM staff in July of 2017 and holds a 100-ton USCG Masters License and also brings a wealth of knowledge servicing and maintaining vessels from tenders to yachts up to 110 ft. Jason is an Essex native and grew up on these local waters and decided that after college he wanted to take a job as a mate on yacht and travel the high seas.

With over 20 plus years in the marina industry from Maine to Florida and the Bahamas as a yacht captain, mechanical foreman, and service manager working at several major boatyards along Long Island include Brewer Yacht Haven Marina in Stamford. CT and Brewer Bruce and Johnsons Marina in Branford, CT. Jason is ABYC certified in marine electrical and marine systems and also diesel training with manufacturers such as Westerbeke, Yanmar, Cummings, Caterpillar, and Northern Lights.

Jason is a hands-on manager who assists the crew wherever help is needed and strives to keep the service repairs completed on time and within budget. He also oversees all service and repair work, winter storage and marina operations.

DON SARGENT

Marina Manager
Don’s professional marine experience includes positions held in both Rhode Island and Connecticut. Before arriving in Chester, he worked for Quox Corporation in Mystic and from this experience maintains a universal refrigerant certification. Don has also worked as the general manager of Frank Hall Boatyard in Westerly, Rhode Island and between the years of 1996 and 2003, Don worked for Freedom and Legacy Yachts as the Senior Project Manager at the yacht production facility in Middletown, Rhode Island.

With his experiences in the field and being a long time sailor and power boater, Don arrived at Fort Rachel with extensive marina knowledge. In addition to being a marine professional, Don is also a family man, married to his wife Jesse and father to five children. He currently resides nearby in Rhode Island and is a member of the Wadawanuck Club in Stonington, Connecticut.

Pine Island Marina (PIM) offers 145 slips that can accommodate power boats up to 42 feet in length. Each slip features upgraded shore power and fresh water hook-ups. Seasonal moorings are very popular at Pine Island Marina with 20 moorings available accommodating vessels up to 35 feet. They offer launch service and dinghy storage for their mooring customers. The dinghy docks have been completely revamped, and launch service is available 7 days a week – full time on weekends and on call during the week.

While relaxing out on the mooring, enjoy the views and peaceful setting of the sheltered harbor. For those looking for a “boat on trailer” solution PIM is happy to offer contracts for May through October. Being located adjacent to the Bay Berry State Boat Launch makes your boating experience just that much more convenient all season long.

PIM offers a fantastic location with convenient access to the best fishing and cruising grounds in Fishers and Long Island Sound. It is a short ride to the race for fishing or a comfortable cruise to Block Island. Boating to New England locations, such as Watch Hill, Napatree Point, Point Judith, Newport, Montauk, Greenport LI, & Martha’s Vineyard are made easy when you dock with them.

Miles Dull

Marina Manager
After many years in the food and beverage industry, Miles Dull decided to pursue his second lifelong passion of marine mechanics. He attended MTTI in West Providence, RI for a year-long training course & earned the golden wrench award. Miles began an internship at Pine Island Marina, and through the years he worked his way up and never stopped learning and obtaining his factory training on Yamaha engines. Now as manager, Miles oversees the staff and day-to-day operations of Pine Island Marina and looks forward to the expansion of the marina and serving boaters.
